Chicago Police Investigating Homicide of 9-Year-Old Autistic Boy at CTA Green Line


CHICAGO, Ill. — Chicago police are investigating a tragic incident at the Clinton CTA Green Line station that resulted in the death of 9-year-old Elijah Flores.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on Sunday, August 10, 2025, around 11:15 a.m. Elijah was accompanied by a 22-year-old man when an argument broke out between them and two other males, escalating into a physical altercation. During the confrontation, the adult attempted to remove Elijah from the situation, but one of the attackers struck him from behind, causing both him and Elijah to fall down the stairs.

Elijah suffered a fractured skull and was immediately taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital in critical condition. Tragically, he passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Elijah’s death was due to blunt force head injuries sustained in the fall, ruling it a homicide.

No suspects are currently in custody. Area detectives continue to investigate, and anyone with information is urged to provide tips anonymously at CPDTIP.COM.

In the wake of this tragedy, Elijah’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to assist with funeral expenses and arrangements. Community members are asked to support the family and keep them in their thoughts and prayers during this heartbreaking time.

Elijah Flores, a young boy with autism, is remembered as a bright and cherished child whose life was cut far too short.
