SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal shooting discovered late Tuesday morning by a mail carrier as 31-year-old Johnny Montoya.
According to the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), Montoya was found around 11 a.m. near Highway 90 and Dorris Street. Investigators say he had suffered fatal gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe Montoya’s death may be connected to another drive-by shooting that occurred earlier the same morning in the same area. That incident claimed the lives of a teenage boy and a 58-year-old man, who were both struck by gunfire in what authorities are calling a targeted attack.
Detectives are working to determine whether the shootings are linked and to identify the suspects involved. SAPD has not released information about any arrests or potential motives.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information about the shootings to contact SAPD Homicide or Crime Stoppers.
