SHREVEPORT, LA — Authorities have identified the woman killed in a drive-by shooting late Monday night on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive as 28-year-old Labriesha Patterson, the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office confirmed.

The incident occurred just before 10:30 p.m. on August 18, 2025, in the 1600 block of MLK Drive. Patterson was driving northbound when individuals in a passing vehicle opened fire, striking her multiple times.

She was rushed to Ochsner LSU Health Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 11:07 p.m.

Patterson’s death is Shreveport’s 24th homicide of 2025 and the 29th in Caddo Parish overall.

The Shreveport Police Department is actively investigating the case, and an autopsy has been ordered. Officials are urging anyone with information to come forward to aid the investigation.
